Option #1-Factory Recovery Image in Windows
You will have the opportunity to back up your files.

1. Click Start ----> Control Panel ----> Change View By ----> Large Icons
2. Click the Recovery icon in the Control Panel.
3. Click Advanced Recovery Methods.
4. Select the Reinstall Windows option.
5. You will now have the option to create a backup of your files to a hard disk, a USB drive, or a DVD. To create a backup of your files, select Backup Now and follow the onscreen instructions. If you click Reinstall before creating a backup of your files, all data will be lost.
6. Once the backup is complete, close the Backup and Restore screen.
7. Click Restart to begin the installation process.
8. The system will reinstall Windows using the image placed in the recovery partition.
9. After the installation is complete, you will be asked to log in to the system. Log in and follow the onscreen instructions to set up Windows.
10. After the set up is complete, you have the option to restore backup files. Click Restore My Files and follow the onscreen instructions to restore back up files.

Option #2-Factory Recovery Image from F8
You will not have the opportunity to back up your files.
1. Restart the computer.
2. Immediately after POST, hold down the F8 key.
3. In the Advanced Boot Options menu, select Repair Your Computer and press enter. Windows RE will start.
4. Enter the user name and password.
5. Select Reinstall Windows.

You also have the option to create a system image on a hard disk, a USB drive, a DVD, or a network. This process will create an image of your system that includes all programs installed to date.

To Create a System Image
1. Click Start ----> Control Panel ----> Change View By ----> Large Icons
2. Click Backup and Restore.
3. Click Create a System Image.
4. Follow the on-screen instructions to create a system image.
